Founded in 1695, it has a long history and provides current accounts, savings, and mortgage products. In Germany and Europe, the Bank of Scotland brand appears via specific product partnerships or online offerings, sometimes targeted at cross-border customers.
For any Bank of Scotland product offered in Germany or the EU, local legal frameworks apply. Opening a Bank of Scotland fixed-term deposit in Germany requires German residency, and account openers must be at least 18 years old. You also must have a German mobile phone number and a valid e-mail address. You can confirm your identity entirely online by VideoIdent or in person at a Deutsche Post office. The Festgeldkonto account is available within 48 hours after completing the identification process.
